Humanities
Department Philosophy
The Humanities Department believes that every child is unique and can learn. We aim to hone our students’ critical thinking skills and inculcate values of good citizens to develop them into wholesome individuals through our Humanities curriculum. The Humanities teachers promote students’ passion for Humanities and joy of learning through designing lessons and activities which are relevant, appealing and personal, as well as aligned to the curriculum objectives.
Signature Programme
Humanities Investigations
Humanities teachers organise purposeful indoor and outdoor activities aligned to Humanities curriculum objectives to make learning of Humanities relevant, appealing and personal to students. The activities aim to promote collaborative Humanities investigations through provision of opportunities to apply Humanities skills in real-life contexts.
Humanities Local and Overseas Learning Journeys
Purposeful learning journeys are organised for students to make learning of Humanities relevant, appealing and personal through exposure to authentic experiences beyond the classroom.
Humanities Stretch Programmes
Aligned to our Humanities curriculum objectives, students are provided with opportunities to examine current issues and present their findings to schoolmates. To maximise their potential, selected students participate in Humanities competitions at the zonal and national level.
